Simona Halep is currently serving a four-year doping ban. Currently, she is suing a Canadian health supplements firm for damages amounting to $10 million. She filed a legal complaint in the New York Supreme Court against Quantum Nutrition. The latter operates as Schinoussa Superfoods.
According to sportsbook pay per head reports, the two-time grand slam winner failed a doping test at the 2022 US Open for the prohibited drug roxadustat, which is on the WADA Prohibited List.
Roxadustat, which belongs to the family of drugs known as HIF-stabilizing agents, can improve an athlete's endurance and red blood cell count, according to the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).
Halep allegedly took Schinoussa supplements at the 2022 US Open in New York, as stated in the lawsuit. Even though it is not mentioned on the label, she subsequently tested positive for roxadustat, according to the paper.
The accusation against Quantum Nutrition in the court filings is that they were "carelessly and recklessly" allowing the product to get tainted with roxadustat.

In addition to being the target of a "degree of extreme carelessness," the former world number one has never intentionally used any prohibited substances, according to the lawsuit.
According to sports betting solution experts, the complaint asserts that Halep should be granted damages at trial for various reasons, including but not limited to "past and future pain, suffering and humiliation," "loss of enjoyment of life," and losses in income and earning ability.
According to the lawsuit, Halep "has experienced losses above US $10 million" due to her indefinite ban. This 32-year-old tennis pro has racked up over $40 million in winnings over her career, says the Women's Tennis Association.
With effect from October 7, 2022, to October 6, 2026, Halep will be suspended, according to the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA).
According to bookie pay per head sources, the agency informed Halep that she had violated the Tennis Anti-Doping Program twice. The Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) is a tool for tracking an athlete's chosen biological variables across time; in addition to roxadustat, Halep was accused of having anomalies in her ABP.
